ABOUT US

Christ Presbyterian Preschool is a non-profit program operating for over 25 years as a ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church which serves the local community. Our goal is to provide a quality, developmentally based early childhood education for up to 96 children ages 2 to 5 in a secure, nurturing environment.  It is our hope to help the children enrolled at CPP to develop the social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual skills they need in order to grow into productive, well-adjusted members in our society.

CPP is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of church members. The Preschool Board is in place to provide the preschool with efficient management, develop school policies and procedures, prepare job descriptions and hire preschool staff. The Preschool is under the daily supervision of a Director.

Our Teachers

The teachers at CPP are educated and experienced in working with young children. In addition they are kind, caring, nurturing and loving. They guide the children in developing cognitively, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.  CPP staff celebrates and teaches Christian truths throughout the school year. Teachers lead the children in saying blessings, singing Christian songs and learning Bible stories, as well as leading them in secular songs and stories.

The lead teachers are required to attend a minimum of 16 hours of professional development in early childhood education each year. All teachers are required each year to furnish proof of a negative TB test. A criminal background check is performed for each teacher through the Virginia State Police and the FBI. In addition, a Child Abuse/Neglect class is completed on a yearly basis.

Teachers and assistants remain current in early childhood education by participating in professional development classes and seminars. All of the teachers and office staff, including the Director, are CPR certified and have First Aid training. Many of our staff are also certified in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Medication Administration Training (AMAT).
